Blancpain celebrates 70 years of the Bathyscaphe with a 300-piece limited edition inspired by a landmark 1968 model. Its compact 37.4 mm stainless-steel case, meteor-grey dial and vintage-colored lume are paired with 300 m water resistance and the 100-hour automatic Calibre 1150.
Blancpain did more than borrow vintage styling: it preserved the 1968 watch’s 37.4 mm diameter and revived its mid-century logo, baton layout and restrained skin-diver proportions. Modern upgrades include a ceramic bezel insert, sapphire caseback, silicon hairspring and a 100-hour power reserve, while the chocolate calfskin strap maintains the civilian, everyday character that originally separated the Bathyscaphe from the professional Fifty Fathoms. Limited to 300 individually numbered pieces, this is one of Blancpain’s most faithful heritage reissues.
