Brew Watch Co. is a New York City microbrand founded by Jonathan Ferrer in 2015, known for compact, 1970s-inspired chronographs built around the ritual of timing an espresso shot. The Metric Chrono Taxi takes that formula and points it at the city itself: every design cue comes from the New York yellow cab. The dial: taxi yellow on matte black, with a checkered stripe running straight across the center, the same pattern seen on the side of a vintage cab. The chronograph seconds hand carries the same checkered motif, so starting the chronograph sends the cab stripe sweeping around the dial. "New York" sits at six o'clock. Luminescent markers make it readable at night. The caseback: a high-polish checkered pattern with Brew's coffee bean logo at the center, a nod to the brand's espresso-timer origins. The case: Brew's signature Metric cushion case in 316L stainless steel, measuring 36mm x 41.5mm and 10.75mm thick, with a 19.85mm lug width. It wears compactly, in the spirit of 1970s chronographs, and suits smaller and average wrists alike. The movement: the Seiko VK68 meca-quartz hybrid.
