About This Release

The Christopher Ward C1 Jump Hour XV is a 300-piece limited edition celebrating 15 years of the brand's in-house JJ01 jump hour module, first launched in the 2011 C9 Jumping Hour. It pairs a silver concentric guilloché dial and blue minute hand with a 39mm Light-catcher case, priced from US$2,495.

Collector Note

What is the Christopher Ward C1 Jump Hour XV? It is a 39mm, 300-piece limited edition released on October 1, 2026 to mark the 15th anniversary of Calibre JJ01, Christopher Ward's first in-house complication. How does the jump hour work? A single black Roman numeral in a window at 12 o'clock shows the hour and snaps forward instantly when the blue minute hand reaches 60. The JJ01 module, designed by former Technical Director Johannes Jahnke, adds 36 components to a Sellita SW200-1 base and draws energy steadily across the hour rather than releasing a violent burst, protecting the escapement and accuracy. What's different from the 2011 original? The C9 Jumping Hour measured 41mm; the XV moves to the slimmer-wearing 39mm Light-catcher case (13.10mm thick, 47.33mm lug-to-lug) with a box-domed sapphire crystal. The radiating guilloché pattern returns, but deeper and crisper, stamped with a tool cut by femtosecond laser. A trapezoidal chapter ring with sunray finish separates the dial centre from the Arabic minute track, and the blue minute hand gets Atelier-level brushing and polished bevels. Why it matters to collectors: the JJ01 launched Christopher Ward's in-house era and later underpinned the GPHG-winning Bel Canto. At 300 pieces and under US$2,700, the XV is one of the most accessible ways to own a limited-run mechanical jump hour from an independent British brand.

Collector Value

Limited to 300 pieces, the XV is the first jump hour from Christopher Ward to combine the classic 2011 design language with modern Atelier finishing. Earlier JJ01 limited runs like the 150-piece Mk V Dusk sold through quickly, so expect strong early demand. Its anniversary status and low run count give it more long-term collector appeal than the standard Mk V.
