About This Release

The Glashütte Original Senator Aventurine Art Nouveau Green (ref. 1-36-16-41-05-01) is a 2026 time-only dress watch pairing a deep green aventurine glass dial with a slim 40mm 18k red gold case. Powered by the in-house automatic Calibre 36-16 with a 100-hour power reserve, it belongs to GO's Atelier commissions, so each piece is assembled and regulated by a single watchmaker.

Collector Note

What is the Senator Aventurine Art Nouveau Green? It is one of two new Senator Aventurine models Glashütte Original introduced in October 2026, alongside the platinum Art Déco Blue (ref. 1-36-16-40-03-01). The Senator line is usually known for the Panorama Date and busy complication layouts; this watch strips everything back to two hands so the dial does the talking. The dial is aventurine glass, a material first made in Murano, Venice, in the 17th century. Metal oxide particles suspended in the glass create the sparkle, and because they settle randomly, no two dials look the same. GO backs each thin aventurine disc with black lacquer to deepen the green. The theme references Art Nouveau and its nature-inspired forms, a nod to the period when Glashütte itself was industrializing. Under the sapphire caseback is Calibre 36-16, a version of GO's modern Calibre 36 platform: automatic winding, 4 Hz, a silicon balance spring for magnetic and temperature resistance, and a 100-hour power reserve. Finishing includes the Glashütte three-quarter plate with stripe finish, a hand-engraved balance cock, swan-neck fine adjustment, blued screws and a skeletonized rotor with a 21k gold oscillating weight. Why it matters for collectors: Atelier commission models are built start to finish by one watchmaker, and this is the first time aventurine has appeared on the Senator line. It is not a numbered limited edition, but red gold Atelier pieces are produced in small quantities, which makes it a quiet, connoisseur-level alternative to aventurine dress watches from Swiss maisons.

Collector Value

Atelier commission produced in small numbers rather than a numbered limited edition, so supply should stay tight at boutiques. The Senator Aventurine is GO's first aventurine dial in the Senator line, which gives it early-series appeal. Glashütte Original typically trades below retail on the secondary market, so buyers focused on value retention should treat it as a long-term wearer's piece rather than a flip. The red gold Art Nouveau Green is priced below the platinum Art Déco Blue, making it the more accessible way into the series.
