Brand: MING | Model: 57.05 Comet | Category: Independent Watchmaker / Limited Edition Worldtimer | Release Year: 2026
Last updated: November 2, 2026
The MING 57.05 Comet is a 40mm stainless steel worldtimer limited to 200 pieces and created for the brand's ninth anniversary. Its patent-pending two-part bezel moves daylight saving cities forward one hour while fixed-time cities stay in place. Pricing starts at CHF 6,950.
MING built its reputation on sleek, futuristic design, and the 57.05 Comet applies that thinking to one of watchmaking's most useful travel complications. This is not MING's first worldtimer, following the 19.02 and 29.01, but it is the first to bring the complication to the brand's fifth-generation design language. The Comet addresses a long-standing worldtimer problem: daylight saving time. MING divides the cities across two bezels, one for locations that observe daylight saving time and one for those that do not. Turning the outer ring advances the observing cities by one hour, while a small aperture shows when daylight saving time is on. The name honors the de Havilland Comet, the first commercial jet airliner. Its layered blue Comet Tail dial creates a shifting visual pattern, and the 24-hour ring uses blue and orange lume for day and night hours. Inside, the Sellita for MING 330.M2 keeps the watch more accessible than the brand's earlier worldtimers. Collectors should note that the bezel cannot resolve every time zone issue, including different seasonal changeover dates between regions.
Limited to 200 pieces across both strap options. The Comet's main collector appeal is its patent-pending daylight saving time bezel, combined with MING's fifth-generation case and a lower-cost Sellita-based movement. Secondary market values have not been established here.
