Collector Note

Why does the Nautilus 50th anniversary matter so much to Patek Philippe? Launched in 1976, the Nautilus became the brand's defining sports watch, and in Patek's own words it "has defined the elegant sports watch" for five decades. What began as a single steel reference has grown into one of the richest and most iconic collections in watchmaking, and the 2026 anniversary is Patek's chance to return to where it all started. What is the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5810/1G-001? It is a time-only, ultra-thin Nautilus in 18k white gold, unveiled at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 as part of the official 50th anniversary collection. The 41mm two-part case is just 6.9mm thick, noticeably slimmer than the 8.2mm Ref. 5811/1G, and keeps the signature contrast of satin-brushed and polished surfaces across the case, bezel and integrated bracelet. The sunburst blue dial carries the horizontally embossed pattern that has identified the Nautilus since day one, paired with applied white gold baton markers and rounded baton hands with white luminescent coating. With no date and no seconds hand, it is the closest modern interpretation of the original three-hand Nautilus formula. What movement powers it? The self-winding Caliber 240, an ultra-thin micro-rotor movement introduced in 1977, just a year after the Nautilus itself. It measures only 2.53mm thick, runs at 3 Hz with a minimum 48-hour power reserve, uses a Gyromax balance and Spiromax balance spring, and carries the Patek Philippe Seal. Through the sapphire caseback, the 22K gold mini-rotor is engraved "50 1976 – 2026." How limited is it? The 5810/1G-001 is limited to 2,000 pieces worldwide. It is one of four limited anniversary creations: the 41mm white gold 5810G-001 on a composite strap with baguette diamond markers (1,000 pieces), the 38mm platinum Ref. 5610/1P-001 (2,000 pieces), and the white gold Nautilus desk clock Ref. 958G-001, powered by the eight-day, manually wound caliber 31-505 (100 pieces). For collectors, the 5810/1G-001 is the anniversary Nautilus in its purest form: thin, precious, unadorned, and a direct tribute to the 1976 original.

Collector Value

As a 2,000-piece 50th anniversary Nautilus in precious metal, the 5810/1G-001 is among the most sought-after releases of 2026. Allocation through authorized Patek Philippe retailers is extremely limited, and secondary-market asking prices have run well above the $93,774 retail. Its anniversary-engraved rotor, no-date dial and ultra-thin case give it lasting historical significance within the Nautilus line.
