Brand: Seiko | Model: Power Design Project Panda Chronograph | Reference: HHK001 | Category: Limited Edition / Novelty Chronograph | Release Year: 2026
Last updated: October 6, 2026
Seiko's Power Design Project Panda Chronograph (ref. HHK001) takes the "panda dial" nickname literally: a bullhead quartz chronograph with eye-patch sub-dials, a smiling face and pushers shaped like panda ears. Limited to 3,000 pieces at $540, it opened for pre-order on October 6, 2026, with deliveries from November.
The Seiko Panda Chronograph is the production version of designer Kiyotaka Sakai's "Pandagraph" concept, the most popular design at Seiko's 2024 Incredibly Specialized Watch Exhibition. The black sub-dials are shaped like a panda's eye patches, a nose and smile sit below the center, the hands are shaped like bamboo leaves, and the dial is textured like fur. The bullhead case puts the crown and chronograph pushers on top, where the pushers form the panda's ears, and the caseback shows the panda from behind with a raised tail. Instead of a tachymeter, the outer "Sasameter" scale (sasa means bamboo in Japanese) reads 30 km/h at two minutes, which Seiko gives as a panda's top running speed. Inside is the Seiko 8T61 quartz chronograph, accurate to ±15 seconds per month. The white HHK001 is limited to 3,000 pieces and a pink HHK002 to 2,000, both priced at US$540, £510 or €590, with deliveries from November 2026.
Limited to 3,000 pieces at $540, the HHK001 is one of the most accessible limited editions of 2026. Seiko's previous Power Design Project release sold out, so expect quick sell-through and secondary prices above retail. Pre-order early if you want one.
